Tuesday the 17th, we drove to the Catania airport to meet our son, Steve, and his girlfriend Arianna...oh, and to pick up Gary and Jill's baggage - finally !
When Steve went to the Hertz desk to pick up his rental car, he was told "we have no cars"....didn't Seinfeld do that bit ? "you know how to TAKE a reservation, but you don't know how to KEEP a reservation"...they offered us a 9 passenger Ford minibus, and since we were driving to Agrigento that day, we had no option but to take it. Good thing Joe's an excellent driver on these Sicilian roads !
We arrived at the B&B - the Terrazze di Montelusa - and were warmly welcomed by Francesco and his kitties. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, and the views fantastic. Unfortunately, it was raining so we could not take advantage of the many terraces, but we spent a lovely evening listening to Francesco play classical music on his piano.

The breakfast at the B&B was amazing...freshly squeezed blood orange juice, croissants, eggs, ham and salami, cheeses, jams, cookies, and - of course - nutella !
