Our antipasto consisted of mixed grilled vegetables, then we were on to the primi...pasta with fungi (mushrooms) and truffle oil for me and pasta with shrimp in a lovely, light tomato sauce for Joe...sooo good. We then shared a secondo of very flavorful orata - local fish. Next came the dolci...almond semifreddo for Joe and lemon for me....
By this time we had already finished a bottle of very nice wine and just "needed" two more glasses...our waiter was glad to oblidge, and we later found out that they were on the house !
All the time we were there, American oldies were playing in the background...we felt the need to dance, and since there was no one else in the restaurant, we tripped the light fantastic to "Earth Angel"...
We met the owner and chef, and were offered a complimentary after dinner drink, the chef spoke excellent English - and we even got to meet the sous chef.
The chef explained how he had worked in London for several years, but his heart belonged in Sicily...I can fully understand ! He also told us that they are in Michelin's "two forks" category, and also in Accademia Italiana della Gastronomia Storica.... awards that are well deserved...the food was outstanding...
