from Castellammare to Taormina...or from here to eternity....

We had an amazing drive from Castellammare to our next "home" for a month, at the Lemon Tree on the hillside just outside of Taormina.  As is often the case, we took the long way...up the mountains and down the other side.  We passed through 38 tunnels, and over as many bridges, and they have all been given names...what an interesting job that must have been !  The road twisted and turned and was just Joe's kind of thing...
the GPS seems a little confused...

beautiful drive !
higher and higher ...

yes...Joe found snow to make me feel at home...
now this is an odd thing to see on a mountain top...no idea what it is...

wild goats roaming the mountains...did they come from that space capsule ?

In Novara di Sicilia, we decided to stop for a bite...the only place open was, of all things, an Irish Pub...really ?  There was a huge menu of beer available, but no Irish food...we did have, however, excellent bruschetta and a great panino di tonno (tuna sandwich)...what a funny place !

nothing like eating with the Virgin Mary watching from across the way...

our little Irish Pub

someone really liked Harleys...

cheers !!

Novara was beautiful...so quiet and scenic...pictures do not do it justice, as is the case with everything here in Sicily.
the sign says "the most beautiful cities in Italy"...this is surely one of them !

what a view...

get your drinking water here...

our parking lot...yes, we take pictures of everything !

view from Novara

could it be any more beautiful ?

a quiet day in town...
By the time we reached the Lemon Tree, we were both ready for a cocktail...or two !
